Friends and Supporters,

The dust has settled on the 2026 General Assembly session in Nashville. As the halls of the State Capitol go quiet for the off-season, we wanted to reach out with a heartfelt thank you. Your dedication to individual liberty is what makes Tennessee great and why it is the perfect place to take a stand for sound money.

Our primary focus this session was advocating for the Tennessee Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act (HB 1695 / SB 2639). The act would have authorized the State Treasurer to invest a portion of funds into bitcoin and to set up safe guardrails around any state-level bitcoin investment.

While the session was challenging, we successfully moved the bill through several key steps before it was taken off notice. Most importantly, we succeeded in sparking the right kinds of conversations and debates in the House, Senate, and Department of the Treasury.

This process taught us a vital lesson: The knowledge gap is still wide. Many lawmakers still lack fundamental information about what bitcoin is, how it works, and, most importantly, how it’s different from "crypto" and other investments. There’s a deep need for education on why bitcoin is a decentralized commodity, how it benefits individuals, business, and governments, and the role it is destined to play in the American economy.

Our Vision Beyond the Reserve

It’s important to state clearly: Bitcoin in Tennessee is much bigger than just a Strategic Reserve.

While we still believe the Reserve Act is a solid stepping stone that will pay massive dividends for the state (and we plan to revisit it in the next session), our ultimate goal is to ensure bitcoin is fully integrated into Tennessee's state economy and day-to-day commercial activity. We want Tennessee to be the place where bitcoin is not just held, but used, built upon, and welcomed by every merchant and citizen.

Over the coming months, we are focused on:

Policymaker Briefings: Meeting one-on-one with leaders to bridge the information gap and provide the clarity they need to move from curiosity to conviction.

Community Events: We are in the early planning stages for an exclusive TNBTC Bitcoin Policy Event. This will be a chance for our community to gather, hear from experts, and help us refine our legislative agenda for the next session. Keep an eye on your inbox for the date and location.

Nashville 2027: With the recent news that the world's largest bitcoin conference is returning to Nashville in July 2027, the eyes of the global community will be on us. We intend to ensure Tennessee is ready to showcase the most bitcoin-friendly policy environment in the world.

The Big Picture

Tennessee is changing. Our economy and population are booming, while our leadership is becoming more liberty-oriented and bitcoin-educated. We believe Tennessee Bitcoin Alliance is perfectly positioned to ensure bitcoin is used to the maximum extent possible to protect Tennessee’s sovereignty and the prosperity of our citizens at this critical time.
